[NEWS] Johnzo West & Miley "looking forward to making making more music together"
Posted by Lola on 13 Feb 2012 with 0 Comments

If you were watching “The Ellen Degeneres Show” earlier this week, you may have noticed a familiar face.

Musician Johnzo West, a graduate of New Prairie High School, performed the song “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” with singer/actress Miley Cyrus on Monday’s show.

“She has one of the most soulful voices I’ve ever been in the same room with,” said West. “It has been such an honor to accompany that voice and to share the stage with her. And we’re looking forward to making more music together.”

The song was recently released on Amnesty International’s “Chimes of Freedom” Bob Dylan tribute record.

Other artists on the four-CD release include Adele, My Morning Jacket, Elvis Costello, Patti Smith, Cage The Elephant, Bad Religion, Maroon 5, Queens Of The Stone Age and many more.

In addition to performing with Cyrus, West has worked with such artists as Florence and the Machine, Robin Thicke and Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers.

Throughout his life, West said music has always been his number one passion.

[NEWS] Miley takes Critters Celebrity Challenge seriously
Posted by Lola on 13 Feb 2012 with 0 Comments

As you may recall, last week we reported several celebs have taken on a Twitter challenge to benefit animals. Among these stars is Miley Cyrus, and she is going above and beyond to ensure the critters receive all the help they need.

The “Twitter for the Critters Celebrity Challenge” has five teams and anyone can donate. The Onyx and Breezy Foundation is putting on the challenge not only to benefit animals, but to also support organizations, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting critters.

Rather than just saying “vote for me” and “help me win,” Cyrus has chosen to tweet her respect and love for animals as part of the contest.

In addition to posting adorable pictures of pups, Cyrus has been tweeting up a storm to save all animals, even if she is competing against her dad Billy Ray Cyrus. “@billyraycyrus I know we’re blood dad but this competition goes deeper than that!!! Team Miley is gonna save the animals! ;) ,” she tweeted.

If you think the starlet isn’t taking the challenge seriously, then you’re wrong. Cyrus is standing up to those who aren’t genuine. “Just got told a lot of people saying they’re donating aren’t telling the truth :( we need to save the animals & lying is hurting them…,” she said on her Twitter page. “It makes me sad! All I want is 2 save the animals! Lying is hurting them more! I’d rather small amounts of $ than big lies!”

For the 19-year-old, yes she wants to win, but it’s all about the animals and not the Benjamins. Cyrus is up against some stiff competition including Kelly Osbourne, Eric Stonestreet and Peter Facinelli, so if you’re on Cyrus’ side vote before Feb. 18, when the challenge ends.

[NEWS] Bella Thorne explains why she is nothing like Miley Cyrus
Posted by Lola on 13 Feb 2012 with 0 Comments

Bella Thorne may have a hit TV show on the Disney Channel, but she wants fans to know that she’s nothing like her predecessors Miley Cyrus and Hilary Duff. The Shake It Up starlet recently stopped Celebuzz to answer fan questions and, when a fellow “Bellarina” wanted to know how she felt about filling in Miley’s shoes, Bella laid it all on the line.

-->“Everyone compares me to Miley but I don’t really know why,” she said. “I’m 14-year-old girl trying to do my own thing and live my dream. I don’t think I can even compare to anyone like that.”

-->“They’re such visions that it’s even hard to picture yourself being compared to that,” the actress added.

Bella, Miley, and Hilary do have one thing in common — all three girls have found success in television. Bella’s show, Shake It Up, has been going strong ever since its 2010 debut. So is there a third season in the works

-->“Of course! Why wouldn’t there be?”

Bella told us.

-->“We love Shake It Up and to think that we’re even going into the third season is mesmerizing.”
